Demon United Hyper X V7 D3O® A.I. Knee Pads | Snowboard & MTB

Demon United Hyper X V7 D3O® A.I. Knee Pads — Triple-Layer Protection for Snowboard, Ski & MTB

The Demon United Hyper X V7 D3O® A.I. Knee Pads are Demon's most advanced knee pad — built for riders who hit hard surfaces and need protection that hits back harder. Triple-layer construction combine impact foam and a Kevlar front shield, all wrapped in the brand-new A.I. (Air Pad Integrated) comfort and impact system that keep you moving freely, no matter how long the session runs.

Built for the hardest hits on the hardest surfaces

Whether you're throwing yourself at park rails, charging hardpack, grinding concrete, or descending technical mountain bike trails, your knees take the kind of impact that average pads simply weren't designed for. The Hyper X V7 was. Engineered from the ground up for serious shredders across snow, dirt, and pavement, this is the knee pad you wear when you know it's going to be a rough one — and when rough isn't an option to walk away from.

Three-layer protection that activates exactly when you need it

Most knee pads rely on a single layer of foam. The Hyper X V7 stacks three distinct protection technologies in sequence, each handling a different part of the impact sequence:

D3O® stays soft and pliable during normal riding, moving naturally with your body. The instant it detects impact, its non-Newtonian polymer structure locks, spreading force across a wider surface area and dramatically reducing the peak pressure delivered to bone and tissue. It then returns to its flexible state immediately — so it doesn't stiffen up or lock you out after a hit.

Kevlar Front Shield — A ballistic-grade Kevlar panel sits at the outermost layer, resisting abrasion from concrete, asphalt, metal rails, and ice edges that would shred through standard fabric in a single slam. Your D3O® and A.I. layers stay intact and functional, not ground down by the surface you just slid across.

Demon's new Air Pad Integrated (A.I.) system uses an Air Pad System throughout the pad body to create impact absorbtion channels. Paired with ventilated perforated neoprene and a soft mesh inner panel, the result is a knee pad that breathes like activewear, not armor. The terry-lined moisture-wicking interior adds a layer of comfort that makes the Hyper X V7 wearable for full-day park sessions, long lift days, or back-to-back riding without the clammy, overheated feel that kills other pads by noon.

A fit that stays exactly where you put it

A knee pad that slides down mid-run is worse than no knee pad — it's a false sense of security that leaves you exposed at the worst moment. The Hyper X V7 uses a comfort Velcro strap system designed to lock the pad in place against the knee without digging in or restricting blood flow, even during deep crouches, jumps, and hard landings. The form-fitting construction moves naturally with knee flexion so you stop thinking about your protection and start thinking about the next hit.

Built to outlast the season

Double-bound stitching at every stress point means the Hyper X V7 holds together through repeated slams, washes, and the kind of abuse that cheaper pads come apart from by mid-season. When you do need to clean them, hand wash and air dry to preserve the D3O® and foam properties. The construction is designed for multi-season use — these are an investment, not a consumable.

For every gravity sport where your knees are on the line

The Demon United Hyper X V7 D3O® A.I. Knee Pads are equally at home on snow, dirt, or concrete. It's the go-to knee pad for park snowboarders hitting rails and boxes, freeride skiers charging hardpack and cliffs, mountain bikers running technical terrain, BMX riders, and any athlete who needs real knee protection that won't interfere with their movement or their style.

Frequently asked questions

Will the Hyper X V7 knee pads fit under snowboard or ski pants?

Yes. The Hyper X V7 is designed with a low-profile construction specifically to be worn under snow pants, ski pants, or MTB shorts. The perforated neoprene body and slim form factor keep bulk to a minimum. We recommend sizing up if you're between sizes or planning to layer over a thermal base layer.

What does A.I. (Air Pad Integrated) mean?

Demon's new Air Pad Integrated (A.I.) system uses an Air Pad System throughout the pad body to create impact absorbtion channels. Paired with ventilated perforated neoprene and a soft mesh inner panel, the result is a knee pad that breathes like activewear, not armor. What makes D3O knee pads better than standard foam knee pads?

D3O is a non-Newtonian smart material — it's soft and flexible during normal movement, then instantly hardens on impact to distribute force and reduce peak pressure on the knee. Standard foam compresses at a fixed rate regardless of impact speed. D3O responds proportionally: the harder the impact, the greater the resistance. It also recovers immediately after impact, returning to flexible state so it doesn't lock up mid-run. The Hyper X V7 adds A.I. (Air Integrated padding system) as a second absorption layer and Kevlar for abrasion resistance — a triple-layer stack that standard foam pads simply can't match.
