Snowboard & MTB Padded Shorts — Demon X V7 D3O Impact, Men's

25 years of rider feedback, built into the most advanced lower-body padding we've ever made.

A D3O® impact pad shields your tailbone and buttocks while Plush pads cushion your hips and thighs — with a fit system you can dial in to the millimeter. From your first park lap to your ten-thousandth, these are the shorts for when you're done compromising.

Features

  • D3O® + Plush padding — A D3O® impact pad shields the tailbone and buttocks, with Plush pads cushioning the hips and thighs.
  • A.I. Plush Padding™ (Air Pad Integrated) — Zone-mapped air-channel padding varies softness and airflow as you flex, compress, and absorb impact, so it feels like part of you rather than armor strapped on.
  • T.P.S. V2 (Total Padding System) — An industry-first modular insert with 2 inches of multi-directional adjustability; slide and lock your coverage exactly where your body and riding style want it.
  • C.B.I.S. (Cross-Belt Integration System) — Dual overlapping tension straps lock the waist and stop the pad array from sagging or rotating, so your padding stays put from first run to last — without cutting off circulation.
  • X-Connect compatible — Links directly to a Demon impact top to close the lower-to-upper-body gap and add a low lumbar pad. Cross-compatible with Demon V4–V7 systems.
  • All-day wearability — Ventilated Lycra/mesh blend is lightweight, moisture-wicking, and low-profile enough to layer cleanly under snow, ski, or MTB pants without bulk.

Specs

  • Tailbone padding offers an additional flex shell helping to deflect blows.
  • Three integrated D3O® impact pads — tailbone and buttocks + Plush pads for hips, and thighs
  • Ventilated Lycra/mesh construction
  • Compatible with Demon V4, V5, V6, and V7 systems
  • Included black foam insert is optional extra cushioning, not structural — many riders remove it for a lower-profile fit. The black T.P.S. insert is the primary adjustable element.

Built for riders taking big hits — park, freeride, all-mountain, and technical MTB. If you rarely fall hard, our Zero RF D3O line covers daily riding at a lower price.

Frequently asked questions

How is the X V7 different from the V6 and previous Demon impact shorts?

The X V7 introduces three key upgrades over the V6: the new A.I. Plush Padding™ system (zone-mapped, air-integrated comfort architecture), the T.P.S. V2 (2-inch multi-directional adjustable pad insert for custom fit), and the C.B.I.S. Cross-Belt Integration System (dual straps that prevent pad migration and sagging). The X V7 retains full X-Connect compatibility and cross-generation support for V4–V7 systems.

What is the C.B.I.S. (Cross-Belt Integration System)?

C.B.I.S. is Demon's dual overlapping tension strap system that stabilizes the waist and locks the entire pad array in position during riding. Standard impact shorts rely on a single elastic waistband that can sag or rotate during aggressive movements and falls. C.B.I.S. distributes tension across two overlapping straps, preventing shifting without over-compressing the waist. The result is padding that stays exactly where you set it through drops, crash landings, and a full day of hard riding.

What is the T.P.S. (Total Padding System V2) and how do I use it?

The T.P.S. V2 is a removable black foam pad insert built into the shorts that slides 2 inches in any direction to let you position your primary protection zone exactly where your body needs it. To adjust: remove the outer shorts layer to access the insert, slide it to your preferred position, and secure. Many riders position it slightly higher for tailbone-first falls, or lower for heavy butt landings. The included black insert is a separate optional comfort layer — most serious riders remove it for a lower-profile fit. The black TPS insert provides an additional layer of GAP protection.

What is X-Connect Technology?

X-Connect is Demon's proprietary connection system that physically links compatible Demon impact tops and bottoms, closing the gap between upper and lower body protection at the mid-section. Without X-Connect, there's typically an unprotected zone between where an impact top ends and shorts begin — exactly where a fall on a rail or box can catch you. X-Connect eliminates that gap and adds a low lumbar pad for extended lower spine coverage. It's compatible with Demon V4, V5, V6, and V7 impact tops.

hi bud. so fR super cool product i like the feel and fit and the suspenders are a great idea. I feel that needed a bit more side and front thigh protection and would love a cup holder built in. I also have been using this and the knee/shin guards for playing pick up hockey and love it!. light no bulk good protection and ease of movement. would like more side and front protection plus cup holder pocket. if i were to make it perfect for my use etc. good products all around. Best, Tony

You dont even notice you wear them. And after a tricky session in the snowpark you are not going to feel these impacts in your body.
It helps a lot.
Thank you

Great protection and fitment. If you're middle-aged, I highly recommend the suspenders. For $10 it's worth trying them out. I have limited mobility and use them for pickleball. I don't need the tailbone pad, so I made a Velcro to Velcro patch.

Okay they are perfect in terms of protection but it does feel like I have a bbl. They aren’t bulky tho so I can still get up easily and have tons of motion to get on tubes or do whatever!

XLARGE — V6 2026 Model, Waist 35-37 in / Yes (SUSPENDERS)

It's my first season snowboarding and early on in the season I hit a large jump on accident, feet flew out from under my and I landed straight on my tailbone from probably 6' in the air and going at least 20 mph. Completely annihilated my tailbone without breaking it. I bought these that same day and have been wearing them about two months now while I learn freestyle stuff (only jumps and boxes for now). I've taken some pretty hard slams while wearing the shorts, even yesterday I slammed straight to my butt after hitting a rainbow box completely wrong at Bear. The shorts absorb basically all of the impact. You still feel the slam but it's only to the point where you just get back up and ride away. The hardest I've slammed with these was at mammoth on the 8' half pipe straight heel edge catch to my butt on ice and I felt that one a bit but not that crazy tailbone pain you get without padding. Buy these and save your body, they seriously work. My only regret is that I didn't buy the pants initially because they have the knee pads. I might get those next season. Demon really needs to keep up with stock though. Missed out on quite a few purchases from friends and family because size wasn't in stock, not sure of supply chain issues though. Great shorts!

Saved my ****, more than one time.

This weekend I was snowboarding thru the trees in an unfamiliar area, and ~6inch tree snuck up on me from around a larger tree and my hip/pelvis went directly into it - throwing me to the ground. I was quite sore, but didn't even have a bruise, and I give a huge credit to the Demon Impact shorts for this.

Major impacts aside, it's also nice to just be able to just sit down in the middle of a run if it's icy or you encounter choppy snow and not have to worry about hurting your tailbone/bum. That extra level of confidence has allowed me to progress my riding faster, in my opinion, because I'm not afraid to fall.

They also dry quickly and are super comfortable; I barely notice them while riding, and I feel that they also help you stay warm on the chairlift because the butt pad acts as an insulator and keeps your bum separated from the chair a bit. I wear them over my thermals and occasionally have to pull them up slightly throughout the day, but that's no issue.

Buy these shorts, you will not regret it! I pair them with the kneepads, and it's a game changer!

XSMALL V7 Waist 24-26 Inches — Preorder Ships 9/18/2026 / No Thanks

Wow!! First time snowboarding and heard about the pain the next day. Found these after researching online and on Reddit. Pulled the trigger and couldn’t be happie. Took lots of spills on my butt and sides that definitely would have caused damage. To my auto was in zero pain after. Yes you can feel the impact through these but the protection is unreal!

These are great. They're quite comfy, I usually forget I'm wearing them until I fall. I was worried about sweat retention before I tried them, but after several long days in these I can say they don't trap moisture and they dry quickly. The extra insert they give you does add some nice cushioning, but it does cause a bit more sweating on the rear than I prefer, so I took it out, had some really hard falls this week on the snowboard this week, I even crashed into some dense trees going way too fast in the glades. I don't even have a bruise. So I'm not sure how necessary the extra insert really is, which is why it's removable I guess. Maybe I'll install it when I plan on doing cliff runs. Also, I'm able to secure my base layer and back protection to the velcro at the top of the seat, so I have full protection of my spinal column. Nice.

The demon V6 shorts far exceeded expectations and are far superior to the cheap ones I got off Amazon which did nothing. As a 54 year old snowboarder who is 6’4” and 225 pounds, I can go down pretty hard and it’s ended my day. These things give me a ton of confidence and protection. Spend the extra a get these. Worth every penny.

First day using them today, second time trying snowboarding. First time I tried I hit my tailbone so hard that the rest of the day learning was spent being timid and worried about causing more pain so I couldn’t progress. Today, I got out with the shorts and was still scared to fall on my backside. But once I did, it didn’t hurt at all and I could spend the rest of the day focusing more on learning and less on falling. Highly recommend this and wrist guards if you’re just starting to learn. It literally takes the pain out of growing pains and you can just worry about progressing and getting better at not falling, instead of worrying about a broken or bruised tailbone or wrist.

The shorts are good, the suspenders are bad. Feels a bit like how I imagine wearing a diaper to wear it, but it protects well and helps keep the back protection down when they are connected.

So far they fit well. I’ve yet to taken them on a run.

I bought this after badly bruising my tailbone snowboarding because i was using a cheap foam butt pad. I went snowboarding again with my tailbone still a little bruised, and this protected me SO WELL. I fell again on my already bruised tailbone, and granted the shock did hurt like hell on the moment, but this pad absorbed most of the shock and my tailbone did not bruise further. I can tell because the first time I bruised it I could not sit on anything hard, doing squats or using my glutes muscle would hurt, but nothing like it this time. I also went rolling after another fall, and no bruise on my hips. Definitely a must have, it is a bit bulky, i removed the additional inside padding in order to move a bit better because my snow pants were too tight with it on, but I’m thinking about getting oversized snow pants so i can keep the whole protection.
Really recommend !

Does the job. Comfortable, great protection, not too heavy. Just wish it was cheaper and less bulky. Can really feel it with the extra TPS foam on. A notiecable bulk feeling on your rear

Almost perfect. The old Demon shorts had an ability to adjust the waist. These do not.

When I first tried them on at home was a bit worried because they felt bulky/weird when bending over etc but when I was riding literally didn't notice them...also kept me so warm lol. I had a stupid fall today and was sooooo thankful for them saved my tailbone.
