Description
Back Impact Pad Slim — Demon Spine Guard X D3O
D3O® spine padding slim enough to disappear under any jacket — the back piece you'll actually wear every day.
A D3O® BP3 spine insert in a low-profile neoprene shell — spine coverage with no bulk, no heat, and no reason to skip it.
Features
- D3O® BP3 spine insert — D3O® smart foam: pliable while you ride, firms up under compression, then resets instantly.
- Built for cold days — The BP3 insert is designed to stay supple in winter temperatures rather than going stiff and boardy (see the insert note in Specs for the cold tests D3O has run on it).
- Low-profile neoprene shell — Conforms to the curve of your spine and lower back, sitting clean under any jacket with no pressure points, air gaps, or movement restriction.
- Adjustable shoulder straps + removable hip belt — Dial the fit to your torso and riding position; run the hip belt for a locked-in feel or remove it for a cleaner, minimal profile.
- Lightweight and breathable — All-day wear on snow and dirt without heat buildup.

Intended use
For snowboarding, skiing and mountain biking only. Not for motorsports. Designed to cushion minor impacts and reduce bruising, scuffs and abrasions from falls typical of these sports. No protective equipment can prevent serious injury. Fit it snug, check it for damage before each use, and replace it if it is cracked, torn or worn.
For riders who want D3O® spine coverage every day without the bulk or the "I'll skip it today" moment.

D3O® BP3 is a non-Newtonian smart foam — completely pliable through every twist, crouch and landing while you ride. Under compression it firms up, then resets before your next run.
The thermoformed body contours to follow your torso rather than lying flat, so it sits flush through every position — crouched, reaching, or riding out a hard landing.
The back pad that works is the one you wear every day — not just on your biggest days. Slim with a neoprene shell, the Spine Guard X D3O removes the bulk excuse. Put it on. Forget it's there.

Frequently asked questions
How does the Ghost D3O work with the Ghost Rib Protector?
The Ghost D3O covers your chest and back — the front and rear of your torso. The zone it doesn't cover by itself is the midsection: your floating ribs, obliques, and the gap between your sternum and spine on the sides. That's exactly where the Demon Ghost Rib Protector fills in. The Ghost Rib wraps around the midsection with high-density Dura Foam and a hard deflection shell, creating a full-wrap cocoon from your spine to your stomach. Together, the Ghost D3O and Ghost Rib Protector cover the entire torso — front, back, and sides — with no unprotected zone. Both are sold separately and can be worn together or independently depending on the level of protection you need on a given day.
Will the Ghost D3O fit under a ski or snowboard jacket without bulk or restriction?
Yes — low-profile under-jacket wearability is central to the Ghost D3O's design. The thermoformed lightweight body is contoured to follow your torso, sitting flush rather than creating the pressure points and air gaps of flat-panel protectors. Combined with the athletic construction, it adds minimal thickness under outerwear and doesn't restrict breathing, torso rotation, or arm movement in any direction. The fully adjustable shoulder and side straps let you dial the fit to your specific body shape — tighter for a locked-in feel under a close-fitting jacket, slightly looser for layering over a thick base layer. Most riders wear it directly over a moisture-wicking base layer under their shell or insulated jacket and report no noticeable change to how the jacket fits or moves.
