These are seriously nice. Love the fit. You can use tight gloves under which I really like. Of course you can use them with gloves over for the large winter style gloves, which I like. I am a large man, the large size fit me perfectly. When using gloves under it can be a bit tricky getting your hand through, not a big deal at all. When taking them off, a little tug on the top and the that bottom repeated and they slide off with ease. Removable palm skid for using gloves over. Going to buy another pair just to have back up. Hope I never need them and I am just wasting my money doing so!Stoked on how comfortable these are, and with the protection level I feel they are at compared to the normal wrist guard styles. I've been on a path to find the ultimate safety gear for esk8ing and when I opened these wrist guards today and tried them on in combination with my motorcycle gloves I truly believe I found the holy grail of hand/wrist protection. I say that because I've tried 4 other brands, and while they've done a good job in certain areas like support and comfort and trying to combine gloves with wrist guards, these Flexmeter wrist guards do everything better: they have the longest cuff with the best strap(s) design and the most low-profile pro-level padding while still being super comfortable and allowing pretty natural movement that works with an esk8 remote. Not only that, I've finally found a wrist guard that allows me to combine it with a pro level motorcycle glove, and while I had been trying to put gloves OVER a wrist guard for so long, I finally discovered the secret which is putting my motorcycle glove UNDER this wrist guard. The brands I've tried from oldest to newest for me are: Knox Flatland 3D fingerless (single piece of plastic support brace with single strap), Triple 8 Hired Hands fingerless (comfy and supportive but palm makes it difficult to use with esk8 remote, and only one strap and hard to get gloves over them), Dakine low-profile wrist guards (they fit UNDER my gloves with some hard work to stretch the wrist openings, but it was uncomfortable and didn't have ANY shock absorbing pads. The Flexmeter wrist guards fit perfectly and have padding and support in every area you could need with a skid plate on the palm, and the quality of materials looks the best I've seen. I'll give them a try in the real world and be back to share any issues but this is looking and feeling like I've finally found the perfect combination for my wrist and hand protection. FINALLY. Only took me 1.5 years but if I found the perfect blend of comfort and protection it was totally worth it! I highly recommend you try these for yourself and let us know what you think. Fall after fall, these guards have kept my musician / visual artist hands and wrists safe. My life and job depend on my wrists and hands. By trade I install some of the most prestigious art (just hung 4 Norman Rockwell paintings). I also am an inspiring musician, so my hands are my life. These are hands down the best wrist guards ever invented. I'm on my 4th pair now and have used them for years and taken some nasty spills on my onewheel with little to no injury to my wrists or hands. I would give them 10 stars if it was available!

Wow! Wife and I ride electric unicycles (EUC) and these are a must have. Basically you are riding on software and if it fails so will your wrist! These give confidence that when that fall happens our wrists will be ok. Thank you!

So far so good! They seem really sturdy and offer completion. The only part that may be a little exposed is side arm. These seem like best wrist guards out there for skate or snowboard

1/23/2020I haven't fallen yet, so, these haven't truly been tested yet. I broke my wrist in August 2019 while wearing Protec brand wrist protectors. . . I wear these every time I ride my electric unicycle. I am able to wear gloves underneath of these guars. I can hold a cup of coffee while using these guards. I find them comfortable. The bottom plastic doesn't jut out the way Triple-8's and Protec's wrist guards jut out, so, I kind of don't think I'll be anymore protected from a wrist fracture than I was wearing the Protec brand wrist guards.I think I was wearing the Triple-8 brand wrist guards, I wouldn't have broken my wrist, because, the bottom plastic piece is wider than Protec's is.--------------------------------------------------------I am 6'1" and I have medium sizes hands. The bottom plate, inside the fabric, completely covers my palm! I broke my left radius three weeks ago, while wearing protec's wrist guards. The plastic plate on the protec wrist guard was very thin and seated itself strictly on the ulna side of my hands. I crashed my electric unicycle into the ground going 22mph.To really know know if these guards will work or not, I will have t duplicate my accident. alas; I am a coward and do not want to run that experiment.I'm a little curious is the bottom plate will really protect from impacts because the plate shape matches my hand and wrist shape and sits flush against my palm. Wrist guards' plates jut out, which gives a spring-type-protection.So, We'll see
I was shipped the single sided ones and had to return them (Thank you Amazon for a hassle free return & refund). I ended up purchasing the double sided version from another website due to the fact that the wrong ones were the last ones listed in stock on Amazon.So this review is for the actual item:I'm very happy with these wrist guards. I purchased them to use while inline skating and these are hands down (no pun intended) the best wrist guards I've used. I actually had an incident the other day where I put them to good use, and came out of it with no injuries or pain....and the no pain part is not something that can be said about some of the other wrist guards I've used over the years. The plastic wear pucks on both guards stayed velcroed in place and took all the road rash. And between the flexible nature of the splints & the comfortable padding these have, it was the most comfortable fall I've had to date that involved my wrists. -- Yes these are more expensive then the cheap ones in some stores, but trust me - you get what you pay for...and these are worth it.
Fell backwards off my Onewheel trying out some tricks. Went backwards and my arm hit the pavement. I dislocated my shoulder and had one of the most painful nights of my life, but after the dust had settled and I had a chance to collect my stuff on the way out of the ED I noticed the scratches all over the skid plate of my wrists guards. I can't say for certain, but the way I remember falling, the force of the impact, and the marks on the guards that suggests my palm hit ground first, I'm very confident I would have done massive damage to my wrists if I did not have these on. The doctor was actually surprised I didn't have a fracture considering how far out my shoulder was. It was a bad night for sure but it could have been a lot worse. I'll never ride without these again.
Got these because my other wrist guards still allowed my wrist to sprain on a hard fall. I do massage therapy so I need to have my wrists healthy. Yesterday I was riding my onewheel at about 20 miles an hour, went to slow down and my son completely took me out from behind and my injured wrist took the brunt of the impact. I was surprised to find the wrist guard completely did its job and my injured wrist is fine! This was my first test in the world world and I am impressed. Definitely recommend!

I recently snagged myself a pair of Demon Flexmeter Double Sided Wrist Guards, and boy, do they have a sense of humor! I mean, they're not cracking jokes or anything, but they've brought a smile to my face every time I hop on my electric unicycle (EUC). Best wrist guard protection on the market. Period! I’m on my second pair of these. I’ve tried just about every type of wrist guard that has been manufactured in the last 15 years. Level half pipe, dakine, generics…. Nothing comes close to these. They really absorb the shock from a fall and leave you pain-free. definitely recommend getting the over mitts with them. (Better deal) these were thoughtfully designed by doctors and engineers and it shows.
