Demon Zero RF D3O® Unisex Ski & Snowboard Shorts
ESPRO outer shell — EN 1621-1 Level 1 certified at the tailbone
Layered over the D3O RF, the ESPRO polymeric outer tailbone pad is a durable, pliable shell independently certified to EN 1621-1 Level 1 — the same impact protection standard used in motorcycle and extreme sports armor. ESPRO flexes with your movement rather than resisting it, but holds its structural integrity through repeated impacts across an entire season. This is the layer that separates the Zero RF from generic padded shorts: certified protection at the zone that ends the most sessions.
Ultra-plush hip and seat coverage — all-day wearability is the point
Beyond the tailbone, the Zero RF uses ultra-plush foam padding across the hips and seat — soft enough to wear comfortably under outerwear for a full resort day without the stiff, distracting feel that makes most riders ditch their protection by noon. This isn't impact armor for the hips; it's comfort cushioning. If you need CE-certified hip protection, step up to the X V7. If you want all-day coverage that disappears under your pants and still absorbs the routine slams, the Zero RF is built for that job.
Low-profile fit — unisex, youth through adult
The Zero RF is cut for a discreet, close-to-body fit designed to layer cleanly under ski pants, snowboard pants, or MTB shorts without creating bulk at the hips or seat. Available in unisex sizing from youth through adult, it's the protection option for every rider in the group — beginners building confidence, intermediates progressing, and experienced riders who want reliable everyday coverage without suiting up. Lightweight, moisture-wicking, flexible in all directions.
D3O RF — recycled smart foam that works harder than it weighs
The Zero RF uses D3O® RF (Recycled Foam) — the same non-Newtonian smart material technology found across Demon's lineup, now built from 100% recycled D3O material found under the tailbone.

The Zero RF is the pad you forget you're wearing — until it saves your tailbone on an edge catch you didn't see coming. Beginner or seasoned, resort or park, it's reliable everyday protection that doesn't ask anything of you.
Hip, tailbone and buttocks padding is ultra-plush comfort foam — cushioned coverage for all-day wear. Right tool for the right ride.
D3O® RF is non-Newtonian smart foam — pliable during riding, it locks on impact to spread force across the tailbone zone and reduce peak pressure. The ESPRO shell adds certified outer structure. Two layers, one slim profile.

Frequently asked questions
Are these good for kids and youth riders, or just adults?
The Zero PLUS RF Pants are built for both — unisex sizing runs from youth through adult, with the same protection stack at every size. Youth riders in lessons or their first seasons are exactly the audience this product was designed for: they fall frequently, they fall in every direction, and the soreness and fear from repeated impacts is often what cuts a lesson day short or slows progression. The multi-density cushion foam and integrated knee pads are particularly valuable for youth riders who spend more time on their knees and seat than experienced riders do. The low-profile stretch fit works under kids' ski and snowboard pants just as well as adults'. Size using the Demon youth sizing chart for the best fit — pads should sit precisely over the tailbone, hips, and knees rather than floating or bunching.
Do the Zero RF shorts protect my hips as well as my tailbone?
The hip and seat padding in the Zero RF is ultra-plush comfort foam — it cushions routine contact and softens everyday falls
Will the knee pads stay in place during riding, or will they slide down?
The Zero RF uses a two-part retention system specifically designed to prevent the mid-run sliding that makes most riders give up on knee pads. Internal silicone grip bands run against the leg and create passive friction hold — they lock the pad against the skin without compression, so the pad stays put through crouches, jumps, and hard landings without you doing anything. The soft-touch Velcro closure at the top adds a secondary mechanical lock, adjustable to your leg circumference, without the scratchy bite of standard hook-and-loop closures. If you've ditched other knee pads because they ended up around your ankle by noon, the grip band system is the fix.
