Most impact shorts protect one zone with one material. The X V7 protects three zones — tailbone, hips, and thighs — using three integrated D3O® impact pads that each respond independently to the shape and force of impact. The centerpiece is the upgraded T6 for the tailbone protector, our highest-rated tailbone pad, certified to CE EN 1621-1 Level 1 for limb and impact protection. If you've ever taken a direct tailbone hit on hardpack, a rail, or a halfpipe wall and wondered if better gear would have changed the outcome — it would have.

D3O® stays soft and pliable during normal riding, moving naturally with your body. The instant it detects impact, its non-Newtonian polymer structure locks, spreading force across a wider surface area and dramatically reducing the peak pressure delivered to bone and tissue. It then returns to its flexible state immediately — so it doesn't stiffen up or lock you out after a hit.

A.I. Plush Padding™ — zone-mapped comfort that adapts to how you actually move

Demon's new A.I. (Air Pad Integrated) Plush Padding™ system is the most significant comfort advancement in our shorts lineup. Unlike flat foam inserts that compress uniformly regardless of where you are in a movement, A.I. Plush Padding uses zone-mapped air-channel architecture to vary softness and airflow across the pad depending on what that zone is doing — flexing, compressing, or absorbing impact. The result is a pad that feels like part of your body, not armor strapped onto it.

T.P.S. V2 — 2 inches of adjustability that no other shorts offer

The T.P.S. (Total Padding System V2) is an industry-first modular padding insert that gives you 2 inches of multi-directional adjustability for your protection zones. The removable Black pad insert slides and locks in any direction within the shorts body, letting you position your D3O® coverage exactly where your anatomy and riding style demand it — not where a generic sizing template assumes it should be. Different riders hit different zones differently. The T.P.S. V2 accounts for that. When you find your perfect position, it stays there.

Note: The included Black foam insert is an optional extra cushioning layer, not structural protection. Many riders remove it for a lower-profile fit. The black TPS insert is the primary adjustable element.

C.B.I.S. — the strap system that actually keeps your shorts in place

Padding that migrates off your tailbone mid-run isn't protection — it's theater. The Cross-Belt Integration System (C.B.I.S.) uses dual overlapping tension straps to lock the waist and stabilize the entire pad array, preventing the sagging, rotation, and shifting. C.B.I.S. transfers tension across the waist structure rather than concentrating it at a single elastic point, so your protection stays exactly where you set it from first run to last — without the excessive compression that cuts off circulation or limits movement.

X-Connect compatibility — protection that connects across your whole kit

If you run a Demon top, the X-Connect Technology links the X V7 shorts directly to your impact top, closing the gap between lower and upper body protection and adding a low lumbar pad for extended spine coverage. This is protection architecture, not just padding. The X V7 is also cross-generation compatible with Demon V4, V5, V6, and V7 systems — so your existing Demon gear works with it, and future additions will too.

Built from a ventilated Lycra/mesh blend, the X V7 is lightweight, moisture-wicking, and breathable enough to wear from first chair through après without overheating or chafing.
