SANJEET

Meet Sanjeet: A Downhill Skateboarder with a Passion for Speed!

Sanjeet is not your typical adrenaline junkie. By day, he’s a pre-law student and retail worker; by downtime, he’s a history-loving bookworm. But when he’s on his board, he’s a fearless downhill skateboarder chasing speed and pushing limits.

Sanjeet’s skateboarding journey began at age 10, inspired by skate media, video games like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, and YouTube clips of longboarders bombing hills. While he played team sports as a kid, the individuality of skateboarding drew him in. “It’s just you and the board,” he says. That independence, paired with his competitive edge from baseball and hockey, fueled his transition into downhill skateboarding.

For Sanjeet, grit is key. Inspired by athletes like Brett Lawrie and Josh Donaldson, who pushed past limits to make incredible plays, he channels that same determination into his skating. Whether it’s hitting higher speeds, perfecting his technique, or dialing in his aerodynamic tuck, Sanjeet is always competing—against others and himself.

Training in Ontario, however, comes with challenges. The province’s lack of hills means frequent travel to places like British Columbia or even North Carolina to find the terrain he needs to improve. But these hurdles haven’t stopped him from dreaming big: representing Team Canada at the World Skate Games and, one day, at the Olympics.

One of Sanjeet’s proudest achievements isn’t a race win but mentoring younger athletes. He finds joy in guiding newcomers through the ups and downs of skateboarding—literally. “Skateboarding involves a lot of failing before success,” he explains. Helping others develop resilience and skill is as rewarding as any podium finish.

Sanjeet credits Demon United gear—especially their Hyper Knee pads—for giving him the confidence to push limits safely. “You won’t find a better combo of maneuverability and durability,” he says. Whether hitting 80 km/h into a corner or taking a spill, he knows his gear has his back (and knees).

With upcoming events like Knox Mountain Downhill and Giants Head Freeride in British Columbia, Sanjeet is excited to race, explore new places, and contribute to Canada Skateboard’s World Skate Committee.

His advice for young athletes? “Have fun! Grab some friends, laugh along the way, and enjoy the journey. Action sports can be tough, but they’re incredibly rewarding. Just make sure to leave the sport better than you found it.”

From racing down hills to mentoring the next generation, Sanjeet’s passion for skateboarding—and life—is nothing short of inspiring.

Terje's love for snowboarding started at just 1 years old when his dad took him along for a ride. Growing up on the slopes, he was instantly hooked and has never looked back since. The thrill of waking up to 2 feet of powder and tearing down Snowbird all day is what keeps him inspired. He looks up to riders like Marcus Kleveland and Travis Rice for their unique spins and mind-blowing stunts.

As an athlete, Terje finds pure joy in flying through the air and having a blast. However, he admits that getting hurt or taking slams can be a real challenge. That's why he always gears up with his trusty Demon Gear for that extra layer of protection. Aside from being a 5-time National Champion and the youngest snowboarder to conquer Pipeline at Snowbird, Terje is also a speed enthusiast who loves riding fast. He's been honing his skills on the airbag all summer and has even started nailing triple corks – a feat he plans to take to the snow soon.
