Demon Hyper Knee X V4 D3O Heavy Duty

I use these for snowboarding. I don't know if these were made for men, or unisex. I got a size M. I'm a woman with slim legs with medium muscle tone. Consider having a women's design. In the old design I got a S, but the lower / upper leg bands were too tight but the knee cap fitted perfectly. Now it's the opposite with the new design for me anyway. I find the straps on the upper / lower leg are very comfortable, but the cap is a bit too big so I have ot put some eextra padding into the knee sleeve under the hard cap.

Velcro attachment for the hard cap to the knee pad. If you fall, maybe your knee slides sideways the cap might slide as well exposing you knee to a nasty slide rash or injury. I think maybe some sort of sleeve the cap could slide into, close the sleeve, and attach inside, I guess with velcro tht goes all round the cap not just in patches like now might work better. Then the sleeve would keep the cap from possibly moving around too much or even being pulled off if hit.

Not an issue for everyone but the velcro that attaches at the top part of the cap does not keep the cap flush with the rest of the pad so the top edge sticks out and leaves a bit of a gap. Again velcro could go all round the edge of the pad instead of just in patches where gaps can occur.

Might have to order a S and see if the cap would fit better. I think it needs to be tight arond your knee cap.

Other than being picky, can't complain good product. Impossible to find anything as comfortable like it in Canada.

Huge improvement over the original V5/V6 Hyper D30 knee pads, not only does the replace-able slider pads make for a more "heavy duty" experience but the sizes are closer to what I would expect (an L in V5 was waaaayy too big, but an M in the Heavy Duty variant fits perfectly). Sizing is tricky, but once you find the right pair they're solid! Have already tested them in a knee crash, they spread the bruise out so it was lighter in overall colour and less painful

As always with Demon armour, a great fit and comfortable whilst offering maximum protection when off piste snowboarding. A great investment to reduce risk of injury. I highly recommend demon products and have used their products for many years.
